Production
Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme is a government program in India that aims to
encourage domestic production of critical and high-demand healthcare products,
such as medical devices, drugs, and other pharmaceutical products. The program
provides financial incentives to companies that increase their production of
these products within India. The goal of the PLI Scheme is to boost domestic
manufacturing and reduce the country's dependence on imported healthcare
products, which can be vulnerable to supply chain disruptions and price
fluctuations. The PLI Scheme is part of the Government of India's "Make in
India" initiative, which seeks to increase domestic production and reduce
India's reliance on imported goods.
